New from Polka Dot Square designs - Wine themed necklaces! I'm so in love with these, I've put my heart into them. :) I'm a 'wino' myself and love the look of cork, and we always have empty wine bottles up as decor in our dining room. Well, I wanted jewelry to go along with this, but could not find anything I liked. So I found some corks, which we also collect here, and got to playing.
I hand cut, sand, and stamped each of these REAL cork pieces.
The green beads you see in the picture? Well those took some tracking down. I absolutely HAD to have beads made from wine bottles, there was no other option for me. Well, despite my stubborn search, I was not having any luck so I found other beautiful beads that went with the cork. As seen in the photo, a Bronzite stone bead beneath each of the glass beads.
Eventually I struck gold, I found a local lamp work artist {they make BEAUTIFUL glass beads that are works of art} and asked her if this was something she could do for me. Sure enough, she got to experimenting as well... these beautiful green glass beads are the end product from wine bottles. Beautiful! I am in love with how not a single one is exactly like. I love the character that each of them has.
Other beads you might see me use are other stone beads, other recycled glass, wood, and metal beads. Everything strung onto a soft leather adjustable cord.
As you can tell, I'm in love with this new line and I hope you all enjoy them as well. You can find them in my Etsy shop here. Or click here to go straight to the wine jewelry section of the shop.
